Hi! I am your local Home Composting Adviser, and I am here to offer you lots of helpful tips on starting and maintaining your compost bin. Composting at home really is easy, and it can also be very rewarding when your garden starts to benefit from all that yummy compost you've produced! If your school, community or gardening group would like to hear more about composting then please get in touch. Keep a look out for my home composting stall at your local events!

Is it time for that post holiday clear out? Dispose and recycle your waste properly by visiting your local Community Recycling Centre. I will be on hand at the Blackburn Community Recyling Centre to offer you support and information about home composting. Make 2008 your year to start composting at home!

I have the pleasure of working with ASK Organic Garden at Woodside Walled Garden to promote home composting throughout the Scottish Borders. ASK Organic Garden is a wonderful place to visit for garden enthusiasts of all ages, and is "the leading organic demonstration garden in Scotland". They have a full set of compost bins on display for you to see first hand. You'll find them just off the A68 by Jedburgh.
