Hello! I can regularly be seen driving around the north of England in my little van. As a Home Composting Adviser I attend all sorts of events and venues promoting the benefits of making compost at home. I am here to provide support to make sure people can happily keep on composting and to encourage those who haven't tried it yet to do so (go on you know you want to!).

Come and find us inside one of the marquees with our display of subsidised compost bins, accessories and a sniff the compost competition for young and old. Can you tell which is which? There will be staff on hand to answer your questions about composting at home and general recycling and an opportunity to see the bins before you buy one.
Come along and find us in the town centre. We will have a compost bin display, lots of information and to help us celebrate Compost Awareness Week we will be doing a bit of compost bin drumming! Intruigued? Well come along and find out what it's all about
If you missed us last year on World Environment Day be sure to come down this year. We will have lots of information on recycling and composting at home so come and see if there's anything else you could be composting that you hadn't thought of.
The compost bin drummers will be visiting Barrow this year and there will be people on hand to answer all your home composting questions. Not sure what you can put into your compost bin? Then come along and find out how you can cut down the amount you send to landfill by a third!
Cleator Moor has been a hive of recycling and composting activity recently and it carries on with some compost bin drumming and an opportunity for people to come along and find out all about how they can compost more stuff more often. We will be there with examples of the bins you can buy and a whole load of information for you to take away so you can green up your community.
We will be having a compost give away where residents can come and collect some lovely free compost which has been made from green waste collected in the area. At the same time we will also be on hand to explain how you can make your own compost at home and cut down the amount of waste you send to landfill by one third.
COMPOST TIPS
Now is the time to add compost to your garden and give your plants a much needed boost after the quieter winter months. As a rough guide add approximately one wheelbarrow full of compost to every 5 square metres of soil.
TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!!
It's not very easy to try compost bins out before you buy one but if you have a look at my events calendar you can find out where I'll be with the display bins.
If you come along to see me you'll be able to check the size and shape of the bins and also ask questions or pick up any free information which you might need.
