Batteries collected at Festival

Glastonbury Festival extended it collection of recyclable materials further this year by collecting batteries too!

To cater for the increasing numbers of waste batteries generated at this year's festival, a range of battery banks and collection containers called Battboxes were introduced.

Darlaston-based waste battery collection firm G & P Batteries Ltd, who have previously worked with T in the Park, Reading and Leeds music festivals, supplied the three-day event with around 100 Battboxes for batteries from microphones, headphones and other equipment used during performances.

Can it be recycled?

Yes - but only a few local authorities currently operate battery collection schemes. You may be able to recycle batteries at your local recycling centre.
