Boost for tyre recycling service
05 September 2008
A new magnetic extraction technology removing 100 per cent metal from tyres has been launched.
777 Group, the demolition and haulage company, will roll out the tyre shredding technology at the Beddington recycling centre and will allow the facility to turn 30 tonnes of tyres a day into rubber chippings.
The company will be offering a collection service for tyres, as well as accepting tyres delivered by local businesses. During the commissioning stages 20,000 fly-tipped tyres were reprocessed on behalf of Croydon council.
