Cost of printing stacks up for British companies

British businesses could save up to 10% of their turnover by cutting down on the amount they print, a new study has revealed.

The average office worker prints 22 pages of paper every work day, often emails, memos and messages that don’t need to be printed at all. Envirowise, who carried out the research, found that many companies can reduce their waste costs by up to 20% at little or no expense, by double-page printing and reusing waste paper. The survey also found that ‘trigger happy’ staff often print a document without realising that it may be dozens of pages long.
