Hundreds grab a green cone to help recycling

300 discounted food waste digesters and composters sold at a one-off event in Leicestershire.
Leicestershire County Council, in association with the Leicestershire Waste Partnership, has become the first authority in the country to offer free installation of green cones which turn cooked and uncooked food into nutrients.
As part of an event held at County Hall, in Glenfield, visitors were given the opportunity to find out more about food digesters and composters and buy up to three of them on the day. Hundreds of bags of County Compost were also given away free to anyone who purchased food waste digesters or compost bins.
