Philips to pick up more recycling costs
06 March 2009
Consumer spared the extra cost for recycling
Philips, the electronics manufacturer, has said it will begin incorporating the cost of recycling its products into product prices instead of charging a fixed fee for it, allowing the company to absorb more of the costs rather than the consumer.
The company also announced it had plans to roll out a global take-back system for its own electronic waste.
The announcement has been received positively by environmental organisations such as Greenpeace.
