The 300,000 spectators at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal produce a lot of waste over the three race days.
For the last four years however, local organisers have ensured the race site is scoured at the end of race day for plastic, glass, paper, wood and food. In 2003, 7,000 kilograms of recyclable material was collected, in 2007 they collected 32,000 kilograms.
