Recycling Gives Cash to Clubs
Recycle Now has teamed up with Coca-Cola on a brand new initiative to get football fans recycling in their local communities.
The Coca-Cola ‘Talent from Trash’ promotion has been launched to encourage football fans to recycle their household waste, and in doing so earn money for their favourite participating Football League Club’s youth programme.
Fans can earn money for their club by visiting the Talent from Trash website at www.talent-from-trash.co.uk and make a pledge to recycle more. The more pledges a club receives, the more points are awarded.
These points push their team up the league table and the winning team, at the end of the promotion period, can win up to £18,000 for youth development.
Fridey Cordingley, Head of Recycle Now, says: “This is a great initiative for Recycle Now to get behind. Fans can get invovled in the scheme and see a direct result of their recycling efforts.
Not only can fans generate money for their club by pledging to recycle, they can also give their club an extra boost by proving they recycle.
If a participating club’s local council reports an increase in recycling by up to 4% the club can net itself an extra £6,000!”
The promotion runs for 12 weeks from midday 5th September 2007 until midday 28th November 2007.
