Time to join the big tidy-up!
21 August 2008
Schools, businesses and community groups across Britain are being encouraged to take part in the country's biggest ever litter pick-up.
The Big Tidy Up is being held in September and aims to get communities together to tackle the tide of litter, with local councils providing their support. Cherwell District Council is just one of the councils taking part: it will be lending its litter-picking equipment to anyone who wants to organise a clean-up of their area.
While the focus of the Big Tidy Up will be to get rid of the litter, those collecting will also be encouraged to separate as much of it as they can for recycling.
