Common Citizenship elements in all lessons
Students will explore a number of processes in all lessons, including engaging with and reflecting on ideas, beliefs and values (2.1a), researching the issues (2.1b) and considering the sources they use, and have relied on in the past, to build their understanding and attitudes towards recycling (2.1c).
As they participate, they will have a number of opportunities, especially in Lesson 5 and the Project, to reflect on the progress they have made and what they have learnt (2.3d).
The materials support the following range and content at key stage 3:
- The rights and responsibilities of citizens (3a)
- The role of the law (3b)
- The role of the media and other groups in informing and influencing their opinions (3d)
- The actions they can take, and that other groups and organisations can take (3e)
- The needs of their local community (3g)
- The world as a global community (3k)
