Compact Discs (CDs)

Check with your local council.  Compact discs are now collected at some local recycling centres but this service does vary across the country.

What else can I do with them?

There are lots of organisations that recycle CD's and DVD's - check out the internet to find them.  A simple search on "recycling cds" will bring you a list of organisations who will take them.  Usually you will just need to pay postage.  Alternatively you can donate or sell your CDs, or re-use them in a creative way.

  • Donate them! Give them to a charity shop, school or jumble sale.
  • Sell them! If your CDs aren’t damaged, you might want to put them back into circulation, either by trading them in at a local record dealer or on the internet.
