Throw Away the Throwaway Society

So many things just aren't made to last

Disposable everything

  • pens
  • lighters
  • razors
  • tissues
  • nappies

...all kinds of stuff designed to be thrown away when you've finished with it.

And sometimes you only use it once...like disposable nappies, which alone account for 4% of the UK's household waste.  That's a lot of resources and a lot of space.

Doing things a different way

The disposable way of life costs more in the end.  Our bank balances AND the environment take the strain.  So when out shopping, look for longer-lasting, harder-wearing products that are:

  • Re-usable
  • Refillable
  • Rechargeable

And don't forget the packaging too!  Go for products with a minimum of packaging, too.  Bulk-buy where you can.

Buying nappies?

If you're buying nappies, choose modern, convenient reusable ones.  They're bright, fun AND environmentally friendly.
