Aluminium is very easy to recycle, saving massive amounts of energy:  up to 95%.

The challenge is collection:  persuading people to recycle the aluminium packaging from their homes and also from places where drinks are consumed away from home, such as the workplace, while travelling and at sports and leisure locations, where collection facilities are not always available.

Nearly 99% of all aluminium packaging is consumer packaging:  we decide whether to throw it away, or really help the environment by getting the recycling habit.

Drinks cans and clean aluminium foil are the most widely collected forms of aluminium packaging, but other aluminium packs which can be recycled are aerosols (as long as they are completely empty) and bottle caps such as those found on bottles of wine and spirits.
