About the Recycling Locator
Need to update the recycling information held in our Recycling Locator, add a new location or obtain a Recycling Locator widget for your website? Find out how below.
How to add the Recycling Locator widget to your website
The Recycle Now Recycling Locator widget is available for third party website use under licence. The widget can be embedded on one or more pages using a simple piece of code. The view can be customised to show a single recycling location, such as an Household Waste Recycling Centre, example here, or to show locations to recycle one or two specified materials, examples here and here, or a material stream covering multiple materials of the same type, example here. It is also available in Welsh.
To find out more or apply to host the widget, please email: PartnerEnquiries@wrap.org.uk.
How to update the kerbside information (for Local Authorites)
The kerbside data displayed on the Recycling Locator is supplied to WRAP by UK local authorities on an annual basis. Each local authority has a named person responsible for updating their scheme data using the Local Authority Recycling Scheme Updater tool. Scheme data can be updated at any time to reflect changes in your services - these changes will update the Recycling Locator. If you are unsure who your named contact is, please email la-recycling@wrap.org.uk.
How to update recycling centres/bring bank information (for Local Authorities)
The data for recycling centres and 'bring banks' is supplied by UK local authorities to Valpak via the Recycle-More website. This information is shared with WRAP (under licence) and displayed on the Recycling Locator using a live feed. Editing the recycling data on Recycle-More will automatically update the Recycling Locator. This data can be updated at any time by logging onto the recycle-more website. If you have forgotten your password please email the recycle-more team.
I'm not a Local Authority but I have a recycling or re-use location I'd like to add.
We are able to accept applications from other organisations who have recycling or re-use locations available that are open to the public. For more details, please email: PartnerEnquiries@wrap.org.uk
