The aim of Recycle Now is to build a nation where recycling is the norm and, together with our partners, help make a better world for future generations.
The journey so far
Recycle Now was established in 2004 when recycling by citizens was in its infancy. Today recycling has been widely adopted across the UK and Recycle Now continues to motivate more people, to recycle more of the right things, more often.
Many people currently have a ‘rubbish bin first’ mindset. We want to shift thinking to a mindset where recycling is the first thing we think about, with appropriate items then being separated out to be put in the rubbish bin.
We save 18 million tonnes of CO2 a year by recycling. We know it will take everyone working alongside each other to bring about real sustainable change. It’s time to take the climate crisis down by recycling more of the right things, more often. Recycle Now is here to help.
How we change behaviour
We are experts at creating and delivering high impact, emotive behaviour change campaigns on a national scale that tap into the ‘mood of the nation’.
We do this by drawing on our established national media contacts, using our in-depth knowledge of social media and digital marketing and deploying attention-grabbing ‘out of home’ activations. This includes the annual national Recycle Week which is now in it’s 19th year.
We also work closely with local authorities, waste management companies, brands, retailers and other organisation to raise awareness, make an impact, and create lasting citizen behaviour change.
